Abbottabad: Hazara Division is currently facing severe dry weather and a harsh cold wave, triggering a health crisis characterized by a surge in respiratory illnesses like influenza, colds, fever, and cough.

The dry weather has affected a significant portion of the population in the area, leading to widespread health issues.

This situation has prompted urgent calls from the public for government intervention. There are demands for immediate action, urging the government to mobilize Basic Health Units (BHUs) and hospitals across the region.

Pneumonia and various infectious diseases, particularly influenza, colds, and coughs, have reached an alarming level, posing a serious threat to residents. Shockingly, approximately one in every three individuals in Abbottabad is currently grappling with these respiratory illnesses and allergies.

To contain the spread of these diseases, citizens are strongly advised to take precautionary measures. This involves consistent use of masks and strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, residents are encouraged to dress warmly to shield themselves from the harsh weather, which is exacerbating the health crisis.

In response to this critical situation, the government is actively engaged in efforts to regain control over the epidemic. BHUs and public hospitals in Abbottabad are swiftly being mobilized to ensure the prompt distribution of essential medicines among the affected population.
