Dry, Cold Weather to Prevail Across Country, Fog, Winds Reported

Lahore/Quetta: Dry and stable weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country over the coming days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
In Lahore, the minimum temperature was recorded at 7°C, while morning fog reduced visibility in several areas.
The Meteorological Department, in coordination with the Motorway Police, has advised citizens and travelers to avoid unnecessary travel during foggy conditions, maintain low speeds, and exercise caution to prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Center Balochistan has forecast that cold and dry weather will continue to dominate most parts of the province over the weekend.
Nighttime minimum temperatures in Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Mastung, Zhob, and Kalat are expected to remain close to the freezing point.

The weather office has also warned of strong winds during afternoon and evening hours in Quetta, Chaman, Qila Abdullah, Zhob, Pishin, Chagai, and Kharan districts.
On Sunday, cold and dry conditions are likely to persist across most areas, while Chagai, Washuk, and Panjgur may experience partly cloudy weather.
According to the PMD, weather remained cold and dry across most districts of Balochistan, with severe cold recorded in northern and northwestern regions. The lowest minimum temperature of minus 6°C was recorded in Kalat.
Residents, particularly those in colder areas, have been advised to take precautionary measures against extreme cold and strong winds.
Separately, air quality in Lahore remained poor, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 204, placing it in the very unhealthy category. The concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was measured at 25.8 times higher than the World Health Organization’s annual guideline value, posing serious health risks, especially to children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory or heart conditions.
Authorities have urged the public to limit outdoor activities and take necessary health precautions amid deteriorating air quality.
