Downpour Ends Australia-SA Rawalpindi Match
News Desk
Rawalpindi: Persistent rain forced the abandonment of the seventh match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 between Australia and South Africa at the same venue.
As a result, both teams were awarded one point each. The cancellation left fans disappointed, as they had been eagerly anticipating the high-profile clash.
Despite the enthusiasm surrounding the event, heavy and continuous rainfall made it impossible for play to proceed, leading match officials to call off the game.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi visited the stadium to inspect ongoing upgrades, including enhancements to the main pavilion, media boxes, and VIP enclosures.
Expressing satisfaction with the progress, he stated that preparations for hosting Pakistan’s first ICC tournament since 1996 were on track.
Security measures were also reviewed to ensure a safe environment for players and spectators alike.
