Peshawar: Known for its historical significance and hospitality, Peshawar also boasts a culinary scene that draws tourists during winter.
The cold season brings a variety of food specialties—especially trout, a prized winter delicacy. Trout from the cool waters of Malakand and Hazara divisions is particularly popular in Peshawar.
Vendors at Qissa Khawani and Namak Mandi bazaars serve the fish grilled, fried, or simmered in spices.
Usman Ali, General Secretary of the Swat Trout Fish Farming Association, noted that around 150 trout farms in Swat have ramped up production to meet the high demand.
Efforts are ongoing to promote trout farming through projects like the Trout Village Project in Hazara and Malakand divisions.
