Ingredients

Ingredients for Chicken Marination

  • Chicken: 1 kg
  • Black pepper (crushed): 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds (crushed): ½ tbsp
  • Salt: ½ tbsp
  • White pepper powder: 1 tsp
  • Lemon juice: 1 tbsp

Ingredients for Onion Paste

  • Oil: 3 tbsp
  • Onion (sliced): 1 cup
  • Garlic (cloves): 3-4
  • Green chilies (halved): 1-2
  • Ginger pods: 1-2
  • Yogurt: 1 ½ cup

Ingredients for White Chicken Karahi

  • Oil: ½ cup
  • Marinated chicken
  • Prepared onion puree
  • Cream: ½ cup
  • Green chilies (sliced) as required
  • Green coriander as required

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the chicken with black pepper, crushed cumin seeds, salt, white pepper powder, and lemon juice. Mix well and set aside.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and sauté the sliced onion, garlic, ginger, and green chilies until the onion softens.
  3. Transfer the mixture to a blender, add yogurt, and blend until smooth. Set aside.
  4. In a pot, heat oil and add the marinated chicken. Cook for 4-5 minutes.
  5. Add the onion puree to the pot, cover, and cook until the chicken is fully cooked.
  6. Stir in the cream and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Garnish with sliced green chilies and chopped green coriander before serving. Your White Chicken Karahi is ready to enjoy!
