Diplomacy or Force? Trump to Decide Within Two Weeks: White House

News Desk

Washington: US President Donald Trump is expected to decide within the next two weeks whether the United States will take military action in response to the escalating conflict between Israel and Iran, the White House announced on Wednesday.

Speaking to reporters, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said the president is carefully considering all options, including the potential for renewed diplomatic engagement with Tehran.

“Given the possibility of negotiations with Iran in the near future, President Trump has indicated he will decide within the next two weeks whether or not the US will get involved militarily,” Leavitt said.

The announcement comes amid heightened regional tensions following a series of hostile exchanges between Israel and Iran in recent weeks.

Leavitt emphasized that the administration views Iran as being closer than ever to developing a nuclear weapon. She noted that President Trump is receiving continuous intelligence briefings and remains in close consultation with the National Security Council.

“He’s in regular contact with Israeli leaders, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu,” she added.

While reaffirming the administration’s commitment to diplomacy, Leavitt underscored that the president is prepared to use military force if deemed necessary.

“President Trump strongly favors a diplomatic path, but he has made it clear that he will not hesitate to act with strength when required,” she said.
