Dengue Outbreak Worsens with 114 New Cases Reported

Rawalpindi: Dengue fever continues to spread in Rawalpindi, with 114 new cases reported in the last 24 hours.
According to the District Health Authority, 221 patients are currently being treated in hospitals. Since January 2024, a total of 2,503 dengue cases have been recorded.
Peri-urban areas of Potohar Town reported 49 new cases, while Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) areas accounted for 28 cases.
Over the past 72 hours, RCB has reported 82 dengue cases, triggering an alert in the Cantt administration.
Fogging and spraying operations are being conducted regularly, but the outbreak remains severe, especially in areas near rain drains.
