Dengue Menace: 29 Face Legal Action For SOP Non-Compliance

Rawalpindi: The District Health Authority (DHA) has lodged 29 FIRs (First Information Report), issued tickets to 11, sealed one premises, and imposed a fine of Rs 279,000 on violations of dengue SOPs during the last 24 hours.
With the arrival of 20 more cases during the last 24 hours, the district’s total tally has reached 2,061 confirmed cases, revealed District Coordinator of Epidemics Prevention and Control (DCEPC) Dr Sajjad Mehmood.
Dr Sajjad Mehmood said that, among the new cases,14 cases have arrived from Potohar town and two of each from Municipal Corporation Rawalpindi, Chaklala Cantonment, and Potohar rural areas.
Presently, 109 patients are admitted to different health facilities in the district, of which 87 are confirmed cases and 1,973 were discharged after treatment, informed Health Officer.
During indoor surveillance, in the last 24 hours, the teams checked 13,782 houses, and larvae were found in 509 homes. While checking 5,439 places, the teams found larvae at 140 sites during outdoor surveillance.
