Islamabad Launches Fogging Drive to Tackle Rising Cases
News Desk
Islamabad: Islamabad authorities have intensified efforts to tackle the rising threat of dengue fever, launching a comprehensive fumigation drive across the city. The initiative aims to eliminate mosquito breeding grounds, improve sanitation, and raise public awareness about preventive measures.
The campaign, supervised by Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon and the Director of Health Services at the Metropolitan Corporation, includes spraying insecticides in residential areas, schools, parks, slums, and other public spaces.
Fumigation, which disperses insecticide into the air, is intended to reduce the mosquito population and curb the spread of dengue.
DC Irfan Nawaz Memon urged residents to cooperate with authorities and take personal precautions, such as wearing long sleeves, using mosquito repellent, and removing stagnant water from their surroundings.
The city administration has also called on the private sector to support the anti-dengue campaign by preventing mosquito breeding at their premises.
Authorities warned that rising dengue cases in recent weeks make public participation critical in containing the outbreak.
