Islamabad: As the month of Ramazan approaches, many women take the opportunity to adorn the Iftar table with a variety of traditional dishes.
However, it’s also exciting to explore new culinary fusions.
Here’s a recipe for a delightful Chinese-style pizza that adds a twist to the traditional Iftar spread:
Chinese-Style Pizza
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 50 grams of cheese
- 1 teaspoon of yeast
- 250 grams of flour
- 100 grams of minced meat
- 1 teaspoon of ajinomoto salt
- 1 teaspoon of ghee
- 1 teaspoon of ground red chilies
- 3 teaspoons of green chilies
- Tomato ketchup as required
Recipe:
Begin by peeling the onion and finely chopping it. Also, pre-boil the minced meat.
Remove the seeds from the green chilies and finely chop them. Dissolve the yeast in a little water to activate it.
Sift the flour into a large mixing bowl. Add ajinomoto salt and ghee, then mix well.
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and add the activated yeast mixture to it. Then, incorporate this mixture into the flour, kneading it well until you get a smooth dough. Let the dough rest for about an hour.
While the dough is resting, heat ghee in a pan. Add the pre-boiled minced meat along with all the spices. Cook until the meat is fully flavored, then remove it from the heat.
Roll out the rested dough to make a thin crust. Spread tomato ketchup evenly over the crust.
Next, spread the cooked minced meat mixture evenly over the ketchup-covered crust. You can also add cheese and any other desired toppings at this stage.
Preheat your oven and then bake the pizza until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and transfer it to a serving plate. Slice it into portions and serve hot.
This Chinese-style pizza offers a unique twist to the traditional Iftar table, combining the flavors of Chinese and Italian cuisines. Enjoy this delicious fusion dish with your loved ones during Ramadan!
