Day Temperatures to Rise Gradually in Southern Parts: PMD

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted predominantly hot and arid weather across most regions of the country in the next 24 hours.

Daytime temperatures are expected to gradually increase in the southern areas.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air masses are dominating over the majority of the country.

In the preceding 24-hour period, hot and dry conditions prevailed in most parts of the country. However, there were instances of rain, windstorms, and thunderstorms in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, the Potohar region, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Recorded rainfall amounts (in millimeters) were as follows: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Saidu Sharif 4mm, Kakul 3mm, Dir (Upper) 1mm; Kashmir: Rawalakot 3mm; Punjab: Chakwal 2mm, Islamabad (A/P) 1mm; Gilgit Baltistan: Astore 1mm.

The highest maximum temperatures recorded were 45°C in Turbat and Jacobabad, and 44°C in Rohri and Khairpur.
