Dar Urges Safety for Pakistani Students Amid Dhaka Protests

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Wednesday instructed Pakistan’s High Commissioner in Dhaka, Syed Maroof, to ensure the safety of Pakistani students amidst ongoing protests in Bangladesh.
Senator Dar, who also serves as the foreign minister, emphasized the importance of working closely with local authorities to protect these students.
In a morning conversation with High Commissioner Syed Maroof, Dar inquired about the well-being of Pakistani students, particularly those residing in Dhaka.

He advised the high commissioner to maintain close contact with local authorities to ensure their safety.
High Commissioner Syed Maroof briefed the DPM on the current security situation and the measures taken by the High Commission to ensure the welfare of Pakistanis in Bangladesh. He reported that a helpline has been activated to assist individuals in distress.
The Pakistan High Commission has advised Pakistani students in Dhaka to prioritize their safety and avoid participating in the protests.
They have recommended that students remain within their campus hostels due to the ongoing unrest in Bangladesh.
