‘Dangal’ Star Suhani Bhatnagar Passes Away at 19

Islamabad: The 19-year-old actress, known for her role as Babita Phogat alongside Indian superstar Aamir Khan in the acclaimed movie ‘Dangal,’ has passed away.
As per reports from Indian media, Suhani Bhatnagar was admitted to the hospital on February 7 and succumbed to her illness on February 16. The actress battled Dermatomyositis, a rare disease causing itchy skin and muscle weakness.
The family revealed that symptoms emerged two months ago, but the diagnosis was only made 10 days prior to her passing. Pooja Bhatnagar, the actress’s mother, shared that red spots appeared on her daughter’s hands, leading to consultations with multiple doctors without a conclusive diagnosis.
Despite being placed on a ventilator, the actress’s health deteriorated, eventually leading to a lung infection.
The family highlighted the rarity of the disease, with only a handful of people worldwide diagnosed with Dermatomyositis.
