Dadu Reports First Polio Detection of the Year

Dadu: The polio virus has been detected in environmental samples from the Masan Mohalla area of Dadu, Sindh, official sources confirmed on Tuesday.   

This is the first time this year that the virus has been identified in environmental samples from Dadu.

In addition to Dadu, poliovirus was also confirmed in environmental samples from eight other districts, including Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Hyderabad, Karachi, Loralai, and Quetta.

To date, the poliovirus has been detected in environmental samples from 52 districts across Pakistan. Additionally, nine children have been reported to have been infected with polio.
