CTP Urges Motorcyclists to Prioritize Safety
News Desk
Rawalpindi: The City Traffic Police (CTP) is urging motorcyclists to wear safety helmets and use side mirrors, citing a significant reduction in major head injuries from road accidents linked to helmet usage.
A CTP spokesman reported that a special campaign was launched to enforce helmet use, resulting in the issuance of 216 challan slips to bikers without helmets on Monday alone.
The campaign, initiated under the direction of City Traffic Officer Beenish Fatima, also addressed other traffic violations, with a total of 2,894 challan tickets issued, including 595 for driving without licenses.
The CTP has also conducted checks on smoke-emitting vehicles, issuing 295 challans for violations.
To enhance awareness, the Mobile Education Unit of CTP is organizing briefing sessions on road safety in educational institutions and public places.
The traffic wardens have been instructed to strictly enforce helmet regulations, particularly on major roads such as Mall Road and Peshawar Road.
