Islamabad: The District and Sessions Court of Islamabad on Wednesday once again deferred the cross-examination of witnesses in the TikToker Sana Yousaf murder case, extending the proceedings to next week.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka adjourned the hearing after the defence counsel failed to conduct the scheduled cross-examination.

During the proceedings, lawyer Sardar Qadeer accused the defence of deliberately delaying the case by avoiding the cross-examination. He assured the court that the witnesses would be cross-examined at the next hearing.

Following the submissions, Judge Majoka fixed November 11 as the new date for cross-examination and directed both parties to ensure the presence of witnesses and legal representatives to prevent further delay.

The case pertains to the killing of TikToker Sana Yousaf, with the next hearing expected to determine the continuation of evidence recording and witness examination.

Several Police Officials Dismissed Over Misconduct, Absenteeism

The Khanewal district police have dismissed several officials from service over involvement in criminal activities and habitual absenteeism, as part of an ongoing drive to ensure transparency, discipline, and accountability within the force.

According to District Police Officer (DPO) Ismail Kharrak, constable Qaswar Hussain was dismissed for alleged involvement in criminal activities, while constables Qamar Hussain, Nadeem Hussain, and a lady constable were terminated for continuous absence from duty.

The DPO said the departmental action reflects the administration’s commitment to professionalism and a fair system of reward and punishment. “There is no place in the police force for negligence, corruption, or criminal conduct,” he stated, adding that every officer would be held accountable under the same principles of justice.

DPO Kharrak reaffirmed that efforts to strengthen internal discipline and promote transparency within the Khanewal police would continue.
