Peshawar: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar on Wednesday evening to sight the crescent moon of Shaban 1447 AH, a development that will determine the expected date for the start of Ramadan across Pakistan.
The session will begin at 4:00pm and continue late into the night at the conference room of the Department of Auqaf, Hajj, Religious and Minority Affairs, Central Eidgah, Charsadda Road. The meeting will be chaired by the head of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, with zonal committees set to convene simultaneously in their respective provincial headquarters.
Religious scholars, meteorological experts and officials will review testimonies from across the country before making an official announcement regarding the moon sighting. The decision will formally establish the beginning of the new Islamic month.

Security and administrative arrangements have been finalized to ensure the smooth conduct of the meeting and verification of evidence, officials said.
