Crackdown Launched on Illegal Construction in Galiyat

Nathiagali: Acting on special directives of the Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, the district administration on Friday launched a comprehensive crackdown against illegal construction activities in Galiyat.

The enforcement operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional Assistant Commissioner Galiyat Muhammad Tariq, in accordance with Section 144, directives of the Peshawar High Court, and orders issued by the Commissioner Hazara Division, under which all commercial activities and construction work in Galiyat are strictly prohibited.

A joint enforcement team comprising officials from the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PKHA), Galiyat Development Authority (GDA), and Donga Gali Police conducted the operation in Nathia Gali Bazaar, Galiyat, and adjoining areas.

During the action, construction material illegally dumped along roadsides in Nathia Gali was removed, while eight dumpers were shifted to the Donga Gali track. Authorities also arrested three individuals for violating the construction ban and sent them to jail.

The operation began from Shangrila Chowk Mochi Dhara and was completed under close supervision of the district administration.

Reiterating its resolve, the district administration stated that no violation of the law will be tolerated and warned that strict action would continue against illegal construction and unauthorized commercial activities in Galiyat.
