Islamabad: In a bid to enforce vehicle regulations across Islamabad, the Excise and Taxation Department has conducted crackdowns targeting vehicles with fancy number plates, black-tinted windows, unauthorised police lights, and those evading token tax.

The department has intensified its effort and excise officers are conducting operations on highways, in busy markets, and at key locations throughout Federal Capital to ensure compliance with excise laws.

On Friday, actions were taken against 88 vehicles with black-tinted windows, 138 vehicles without proper registration numbers, and 156 vehicles for other excise violations. Additionally, 14 vehicles equipped with unauthorised police lights were seized, and 340 vehicles were fined for failing to pay the required token tax.

Excise and Taxation Director Bilal Azam urged citizens to remove non-standard number plates and black-tinted windows to avoid penalties. Bilal also advised against using HID lights in public vehicles and reminded vehicle owners to settle any outstanding token tax payments and ensure proper registration.
