Islamabad: The College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan (CPSP) has officially barred postgraduate trainee doctors from engaging in second jobs or private practice during their training period.

In a letter issued to all affiliated institutions on Tuesday, the CPSP stated that under its existing rules and regulations, trainee doctors are not allowed to take up additional employment or perform private medical practice while undergoing specialist training.

The directive emphasizes that any such engagement outside of their official training responsibilities is a violation of CPSP policies. The move aims to ensure that trainee doctors remain fully dedicated to their postgraduate training and uphold professional standards.
