Islamabad:  An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday extended the physical remand of PTI NA-48 president Sohail Satti in protest-related cases of October 4 and November 26.

ATC Judge Abual Hasanat Zulqarnain heard the case, where Satti was produced before the court after completing his five-day physical remand. Federal police requested an extension of remand, which was opposed by defense counsel Advocate Ansar Kayani, who argued that the cases were baseless and should be discharged.

After hearing arguments, the court handed Satti over to police on one more day of physical remand. Two cases against him are registered at Khanna police station.

ATC Issues Fresh Summons to PTI Workers in Protest Case

The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad on Monday once again summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers absent from proceedings in the October 4 protest case.

ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra issued fresh notices after no worker appeared in court during the latest hearing. Defense lawyers informed the court that the workers, all from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, were unable to attend due to weather conditions in the province.

The case is linked to the October 4 protest in Islamabad, registered at Kohsar police station, in which PTI founder, Ali Amin Gandapur, Barrister Saif, and Omar Ayub, among others, are also nominated.

So far, the investigation report (challan) has only been submitted against PTI workers, while proceedings against senior leaders remain pending. The charges involve their alleged role in organizing and participating in the protest under anti-terrorism provisions.
