Couple Killed, Daughter Injured in Attack Over Old Rivalry in Khairpur

Islamabad: A man and his wife were shot dead while their daughter sustained serious injuries after armed assailants broke into their home and opened fire while they were asleep in Khairpur’s Kot Diji area, 24NewsHD TV reported on Wednesday.

The brutal incident took place in the Murad Gopang locality and is believed to be the result of an old rivalry, according to initial police findings.

The deceased have been identified as Mir Mohammad Gopang and his wife, Fauzia Gopang. Their injured daughter was rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Following the attack, local police arrived at the scene and shifted the bodies to a local hospital for post-mortem examinations. SSP Khairpur has taken notice of the incident and directed officials to submit a detailed report. He also assured that the perpetrators would be arrested soon.
