Countrywide Cattle Markets Witnessing Rush of Customers
News Desk
Islamabad: In anticipation of Eid ul Azha, bustling sacrificial animal markets across the country were flooded with customers of all ages, especially children seen enthusiastically negotiating for their preferred animals.
Speaking to a private news channel on Friday, buyers from various cities expressed confidence that they would have a busy weekend making last-minute purchases of sacrificial animals.
One customer mentioned starting the search for a reasonably priced animal that his children would like, engaging in bargaining with sellers while looking for a well-decorated and healthy goat.
Another buyer noted that prices were higher compared to last year, attributing this increase to elevated costs of fodder and transportation, as clarified by traders.
Amidst all this, children’s excitement was palpable, with many planning to decorate their animals with henna and other ornaments.
The demand for animals remained high, prompting seasonal fodder sellers to set up their stalls on streets across many cities.
A seller from Faisalabad remarked that in this time of inflation, it was a lucrative opportunity for them to earn extra income.
The livestock markets also drew crowds due to the presence of notable and distinctive animals. For instance, “Babblu,” priced at 1,200,000/- in Lahore’s cattle market, particularly captured people’s attention.
