Cops Responsible for Securing Anti-Polio Team Attacked in Bajaur

Islamabad: Terrorists have attacked police officers responsible for securing an anti-polio team in the northern district of Bajaur in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the police, an explosion occurred in the Belot Farsh area of Bajaur, resulting in the death of five police officers and injuries to more then 10 others.

The Bajaur police reported that the blast occurred near a police truck, which was completely destroyed. These officers were en route to provide security for an anti-polio campaign when the explosion occurred, sources said.

The bodies of the deceased and the injured have been shifted to Khar Hospital. An investigation into the incident has been initiated by the police.

The exact nature of the blast remains unknown, and as of now, no terrorist group has claimed responsibility.
