Cop Injured in Attack on Polio Team

Peshawar: A police constable assigned to guard the polio vaccination team in Mardan was critically injured by gunfire during an attack in the Pir Saidi area of Tehsil Takhtbhai on Tuesday.

The constable, identified as Zohar, son of Qayyum, sustained serious injuries in the assault.

The polio vaccination team escaped unharmed.

Upon receiving the distress call, Rescue 1122 dispatched an ambulance and medical team to the scene. They promptly shifted the injured constable to THQ Hospital, where he was later referred to MMC for further medical attention.
