Commissioner Inspects Upgraded Joint Check Post on Old Airport Road

Rawalpindi: Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, Engineer Abdul Amir Khattak, on Thursday reviewed the preparations for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, inspecting the recently upgraded joint check post on Old Airport Road.
During the visit, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the swift progress of the upgradation work and lauded the efforts of the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), according to an RDA spokesperson.
Accompanied by Director General RDA Kinza Murtaza, DG Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Ahmed Hasan Ranjha, Managing Director Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saleem Ashraf, and other senior officials, the Commissioner was briefed on the completed project.
The road rehabilitation, check post renovation, and beautification of the Old Airport Road were highlighted as part of the efforts to prepare for the SCO Summit.
Newly installed scanning devices, surveillance cameras, and the establishment of a control room at the check post were noted as measures to enhance security and ensure the smooth flow of traffic.
The Commissioner appreciated the timely completion of the project, noting that the improvements would contribute to both traffic management and overall security in the lead-up to the summit.
