Colombian Official Slams Costly Harry, Meghan Visit
News Desk
Islamabad: The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who recently returned from their trip to Colombia, are reportedly puzzled by the public’s reaction to their visit.
According to a source quoted by OK!, the couple is “embarrassed by this latest backlash,” particularly since they received similar criticism during their trip to Nigeria.
They want to raise awareness of the challenges these countries face, knowing that their high profile can help spotlight these issues.
They also recognize that such trips boost their status in Hollywood, which in turn benefits their brand. Despite this, they are now uncertain about how to regain public favor without abandoning these efforts.
Meanwhile, Colombian official Andres Escobar criticized the significant expenditure by the government to host Harry and Meghan. “There are many Colombians who are hungry and lack basic necessities,” he said.
“The Vice President wanted to meet two high-profile public figures, overlooking the criticism and problems we face.
In the midst of an economic crisis, eight billion pesos were spent on their visit. Colombian military planes and helicopters were used, and this money could have been better allocated.”
