Sargodha: The ongoing spell of severe cold and fog in Sargodha has led to a sharp increase in illnesses among children, with health experts urging parents to exercise caution.
Renowned pediatrician Dr Nauman Khalid Qureshi, speaking to APP, highlighted the heightened risk of pneumonia during the current weather conditions. He advised parents to adopt preventive measures to safeguard their children’s health.
Dr Qureshi emphasized the importance of keeping children warm, stating, “Ensure children’s heads are covered, and avoid unnecessary exposure to the cold. Keep them indoors as much as possible.”
He further advised against cold, sour, and fried foods, noting their potential to exacerbate health issues during winter.
The cold wave has prompted calls for heightened vigilance, particularly for young children, who are more vulnerable to weather-induced ailments. Parents have been urged to prioritize their children’s health and take proactive steps to prevent seasonal illnesses.
