Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi experienced a sharp drop in temperature overnight as steady rainfall lashed the city for several hours, bringing relief from the recent warmer spell and restoring wintry conditions.

The rain, which began late last night and continued intermittently, lowered temperatures across the city and surrounding areas. Adding to the seasonal feel, fresh snowfall was reported in Murree and nearby hill stations, transforming popular tourist destinations into picturesque winter landscapes.

The combined impact of rainfall in the plains and snowfall in the uplands has created a noticeable chill in Rawalpindi and adjoining areas. Residents were seen once again bundling up in sweaters, jackets and shawls as cold conditions returned.

Medical experts have advised citizens to take precautionary measures, including limiting exposure to cold weather, wearing warm clothing and maintaining basic health safeguards to avoid illness.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast more scattered showers over the coming days, indicating that the cold weather is likely to persist in the city.
