Cold Wave Is Expected To Hit Majority of The Country: PMD

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department has predicted that cold waves will affect the majority of the country over the next 24 hours.

The synoptic condition indicated that continental air dominated over most of the country. Today, the western regions are predicted to experience an approaching shallow trough of the westerly wave.

In the majority of the country, cold and dry weather is predicted, with extremely cold temperatures in the upper parts.

However, isolated locations in north and western Balochistan are predicted to get light rain/light snow over the mountains.

Over the plain areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh, dense fog is anticipated to persist.

In the early morning hours, isolated locations in Kashmir and the Potohar region are likely to experience frost or fog.

Most parts of the country experienced chilly, dry weather over the past 24 hours, with Gilgit-Baltistan and north Balochistan seeing extremely cold temperatures.

Dense foggy conditions prevailed over plain areas of Punjab. The lowest minimum temperatures recorded during the last 24 hours are Leh, Skardu -12 C, Kalam, Astore, Gupis -08, Ziarat -07, Gilgit -06, Kalat -05, Chitral, and Dir -04 C.
