Cold, Dry Weather to Prevail Across Most Parts of Country

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted mainly cold and dry weather across most parts of the country on Saturday, with very cold conditions expected in northern regions, especially during the morning and night. Smog and shallow fog are likely to persist in parts of Punjab during early morning and late-night hours.

In Islamabad, the weather will remain cold and dry, with nighttime temperatures expected to drop further.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, most districts will witness cold and dry conditions, turning very cold in hilly areas. Morning fog may form in Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan and nearby regions.

Punjab is also expected to remain cold and dry, including Murree and Galliyat. Smog and shallow fog may affect Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Jhelum, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Bahawalpur and adjoining districts, reducing visibility in the morning and at night.

Dry weather is forecast across Sindh, while Balochistan will remain under cold and dry conditions throughout the province.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan are likely to experience cold to very cold weather, particularly during morning and night. Gilgit-Baltistan may see partly cloudy skies with chances of light rain or snowfall at isolated spots.

During the last 24 hours, most parts of the country reported dry weather, while hilly regions continued to experience cold to very cold temperatures. Smog and shallow fog also persisted over several plain districts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, affecting early morning and nighttime visibility.

The lowest minimum temperatures recorded today reflected the intensifying winter in northern areas: Skardu and Leh dropped to -05°C, Gilgit and Babusar to -02°C, while Gupis recorded -01°C.
