Cold, Dry Weather to Persist in Lahore
News Desk
Lahore: Cold and dry weather continued to prevail in Lahore on Wednesday and is likely to persist on Thursday, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
MET officials said continental air is dominating most parts of the country, resulting in cold and dry conditions across the plains, while very cold weather is expected in the northern areas. They added that shallow to moderate fog may develop in the plain areas of northeast and south Punjab, as well as upper Sindh, during night and early morning hours.
Despite the chilly conditions, Lahore experienced a sunny and clear day on Wednesday. The city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) dropped to 151, indicating a slight improvement in air quality, though it remained in the “unhealthy” category.
According to IQAir, PM2.5 concentration levels in Lahore were recorded at 11.2 times higher than the World Health Organization’s annual guideline value, posing continued health risks, particularly for sensitive groups.
