Cold, Dry Weather Expected Across Pakistan

Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported on Wednesday that cold and dry weather is expected to persist across most parts of the country over the next 24 hours, with very cold conditions anticipated in hilly areas during the morning and night.

According to the PMD, continental air continues to dominate the country’s weather system. Gusty winds are likely in most regions during the afternoon.

Moderate to dense fog patches are expected in northeastern Punjab during the morning, while shallow to moderate fog may occur in southern Punjab and upper Sindh. Frost is likely at a few places in Kashmir, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the Potohar region, and upper Punjab during the early morning hours.

In Lahore, partly cloudy and cold weather persisted on Wednesday. The MET Office forecast similar conditions for the next 24 hours.

The lowest temperature nationwide was recorded in Leh at -13°C, while Lahore experienced a minimum temperature of 4.8°C and a maximum of 22.8°C.

The PMD emphasized that precautions should be taken in areas prone to frost and fog, especially during early morning and night hours.
