Cold, Cloudy Pakistan with Dense Fog in Plains

Lahore/Karachi: The country experienced cold and dry conditions on Sunday, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicting similar weather in the coming 24 hours.

In Lahore, partly cloudy skies and cold weather prevailed, with the minimum temperature dropping to 7°C and a maximum of 17°C. Continental air remains dominant across the country, contributing to the cold wave.

PMD officials forecast very cold conditions in hilly areas, while frost is expected in isolated locations, including Islamabad, the Pothohar region, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the morning hours.

Dense fog continues to affect visibility in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during morning and nighttime hours.

Meanwhile, in Sindh, cold and dry weather is likely to persist in most districts. Moderate to dense fog patches are forecast in Sukkur, Shaheed Benazirabad, Shikarpur, Kashmore, Khairpur, Mohenjodaro, and surrounding areas during the early and late hours.

The lowest temperature on Sunday was recorded in Leh at -12°C, reflecting the severity of the cold wave. Citizens across the affected regions are advised to take precautions against the biting cold and reduced visibility due to fog.
