COAS Visits US, Meets Senior Political, Military Leadership

Rawalpindi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir NI (M) is on an official visit to the United States, holding high-level meetings with senior political and military leaders, as well as engaging with the Pakistani diaspora.
According to an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) statement, the COAS attended the retirement ceremony of outgoing Commander United States Central Command (CENTCOM) General Michael E Kurilla in Tampa, and the Change of Command ceremony marking the appointment of Admiral Brad Cooper as his successor.
He lauded General Kurilla’s exemplary leadership and invaluable role in strengthening bilateral military cooperation, and extended his best wishes to Admiral Cooper, expressing confidence in continued collaboration to address shared security challenges.
During the visit, the COAS also met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine to discuss matters of mutual professional interest, and invited him to visit Pakistan. On the sidelines, he interacted with defence chiefs from friendly nations.
In an interactive session with the Pakistani community in the US, the COAS encouraged them to remain optimistic about Pakistan’s future and contribute towards attracting investment. The diaspora reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the country’s progress and development.
