Clean Parks, Happy Tourists: CDA’s Drive To Promote Healthy Environment
News Desk
Islamabad: It is the responsibility of every citizen to educate others about the cleanliness of the parks and avoid littering in tourist spaces, said a Capital Development Authority (CDA) official.
The CDA has launched an effective cleanliness campaign at various parks in the federal capital aimed at ensuring a clean environment to attract an influx of tourists in a healthy atmosphere.
According to the official, the campaign is to urge tourists to maintain cleanliness at tourist spots in the capital city as a number of people from various parts of the country flock to the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi for recreation and tourism purposes.
Furthermore, the authority is planning to construct many new modern parks in the federal capital to provide basic facilities for activity to the residents of the city, he revealed.
The official assured that civic issues like upgradation and improvement of parks and footpaths, provision of clean drinking water and sewage, and improvement of roads and recreational facilities would be resolved on a priority basis.
One of the key challenges is to ensure a plastic-free environment, especially in green spaces, because plastic bottles, wrappers, and shopping bags are rampantly littered at tourist destinations, he said.
The CDA sanitary workers are involved in collecting plastic waste and littering discarded items, creating uncleanness, he added.
He urged the people to throw the disposal material in dustbins installed at all the parks to ensure a clean and fresh environment.
Meanwhile, people belonging to different walks of life appreciated the CDA’s efforts in the cleanliness campaign and termed it a welcome move by the authority.
