China’s Kumtag Desert Camels Get Their Own Traffic Lights
News Desk
Islamabad: In a unique initiative, local authorities in China’s Kumtag Desert are set to introduce traffic signals to assist the movement of camels.
This decision comes as riding camels to explore the scenic Mengsha Mountains area has gained popularity among tourists, especially during the month of May.
Reports indicate a surge in tourism, with over 10,000 visitors arriving on the first day of last year’s annual holidays to enjoy camel rides. This number steadily increased to a staggering 20,000 daily thereafter.
To accommodate the growing influx of tourists, there are now 2,400 camels dedicated solely for riding purposes in the mentioned area.
