China Urges Pakistan, India to Return to Path of Political Settlement

Beijing: China on Saturday strongly urged both India and Pakistan to prioritize regional peace and stability by returning to the path of political dialogue and resolving issues through peaceful means.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed deep concern over the ongoing escalation between the two countries, stating, “China is closely following the situation between India and Pakistan and is deeply concerned about the rising tensions.”
“We strongly urge both sides to act in the larger interest of regional peace and stability, exercise maximum restraint, avoid actions that could further inflame the situation, and return to the track of political settlement through peaceful dialogue,” the spokesperson emphasized.
He further noted that such a course of action would serve the fundamental interests of both nations and contribute to a stable and peaceful South Asian region—something the international community also hopes to see.
“China stands ready to continue playing a constructive role in facilitating peace between India and Pakistan,” the spokesperson added.
