Child’s Death Due to Open Manhole at LCH Sparks Inquiry

Lahore: Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique has taken serious notice of the tragic death of a child who fell into an open manhole at the Children’s Hospital Lahore. He has directed the hospital’s Managing Director to submit a detailed report on the incident.

In response, the hospital administration has constituted a three-member committee to investigate the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.

The committee, chaired by Professor Abid Ali Qureshi of Pediatric Radiology, includes Associate Professor of Developmental Pediatrics Dr. Ayesha Farid and Additional Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Ali Abuzar.

The committee is tasked with submitting its findings within 24 hours and identifying those responsible for the negligence.
