Chatta Urges Swift Action for Election Readiness

Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Division Commissioner, Liaquat Ali Chatta, has urged swift completion of all preparations for the upcoming 2024 general elections.

He emphasized the need for transparent conduct and pledged unconditional support from the divisional administration to the ECP. This support encompasses various aspects, including security arrangements for the anticipated 2500 polling stations across Rawalpindi district, identified within 1750 selected buildings.

Assistant Commissioners received directives to finalize arrangements in their respective areas, with special emphasis on polling station security. The Regional Transport Authority in Rawalpindi has secured vehicles for election staff. Commissioner Chatta stressed the importance of periodic meetings among relevant departments upon the election schedule’s release to ensure readiness and compliance with ECP guidelines.

In emphasizing the significance of transparent elections for national security and development, Commissioner Chatta urged a commitment beyond professional duty, regarding this as a social responsibility. He emphasized strict adherence to the ECP’s Code of Conduct, emphasizing the implementation of forthcoming guidelines for impartial and transparent elections.
