Islamabad: The perfect Kabab Masala recipe to enjoy as a special Bakra treat! Bold spices and tender kababs come together to create a festive favorite.

Ingredients

For Kabab Preparation:

  • Beef mince – 1 kg
  • Red chili flakes – 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder – 1 tbsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Green chilies (sliced) – 2-3
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

For Kabab Masala:

  • Oil – 1/2 cup
  • Onion paste – 1 cup
  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato puree – 1 cup
  • Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder – 1/2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Garam masala powder – 1 tsp
  • Salt – 1 tsp
  • Yogurt – 1 cup
  • Hot water – 1 cup
  • Prepared kababs (from above)
  • Green coriander (for garnish)
  • Green chilies (julienne, for garnish)

Directions

  1. In a chopper, combine beef mince, red chili flakes, coriander powder, red chili powder, salt, sliced green chilies, and ginger garlic paste. Chop well to mix everything evenly.
  2. Shape the mixture onto skewers to form kababs.
  3. Shallow fry the kababs until they are half cooked. Set aside.
  4. In a pot, heat oil and add onion paste. Cook for 1 minute. Add ginger garlic paste and sauté for 30 seconds.
  5. Add tomato puree and cook for 2–3 minutes.
  6. Stir in coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for another 2–3 minutes.
  7. Add yogurt and cook the mixture until oil separates from the masala.
  8. Pour in hot water, mix well, and add the partially cooked kababs. Cover and cook until kababs are fully done.
  9. Garnish with fresh green coriander and julienned green chilies before serving.
