CDA Dr Naeem Stresses Commitment to Diabetes Prevention

Islamabad: Pakistan’s leading medical professionals emphasized the importance of early diagnosis, timely treatment, and lifestyle changes in managing diabetes during an event organized by the CDA Hospital to mark World Diabetes Day.
The event, held at Capital Hospital, Islamabad, was led by the hospital’s Endocrinology Department and attended by prominent medical professionals, including Executive Director Dr Naeem Taj, Head of Endocrinology Dr Sarwar Malik, Deputy Director Dr Suleman, and other specialists.
Dr Naeem Taj described diabetes as a global health challenge and a growing issue in Pakistan. “Diabetes can be effectively controlled with timely diagnosis and appropriate treatment,” he said. “Public awareness about its signs and early intervention is critical to reducing its long-term complications.”
Executive Director Dr Naeem Taj emphasized the hospital’s dedication to delivering high-quality healthcare services and supporting efforts to combat diabetes in the community.He stated, “We are committed to providing education, care, and preventive services to ensure that individuals at risk of diabetes can effectively manage their health. Reducing the burden of diabetes in our community remains a top priority for the hospital.”
Dr Sarwar Malik provided an in-depth overview of the different types of diabetes, their symptoms, and the importance of early detection and proper management. He stated, “Raising awareness and educating the public are key to combating the increasing prevalence of diabetes.”
Medical Officer Dr Hina Inayat shared practical advice on adopting healthier lifestyles, emphasizing dietary adjustments and regular exercise to prevent diabetes. Additionally, Dr Maria Shafi presented the latest advancements in diabetes care, while Dr Hanan and Dr Akram discussed complications related to diabetes and available treatments.
