Islamabad: As Pakistan’s Independence Day draws near, the streets are beginning to shimmer in green and white. From the heart of Islamabad to the smallest towns, car owners are revving up for August 14 with a wave of creative, patriotic vehicle makeovers.

In major cities, the trend has shifted gears this year—moving beyond the simple fluttering flag to full-scale artistry. Cars are being wrapped in the Pakistani flag, adorned with ribbons, balloons, streamers, and decals that transform everyday vehicles into rolling symbols of national pride.

“I love decorating my car on Independence Day. It’s my way of showing love and respect for the country,” said Ali Raza, a car owner from Islamabad. “This year, I’ve decided to go all out and paint my entire car with the Pakistani flag.”

For Raheel, another enthusiast, the decoration is about more than just celebration—it’s a statement. “Decorating my car with the flag lets me showcase my patriotism. It’s an exciting and joyful way to mark the day,” he said.

The surging demand has car decoration businesses working at full throttle. In Rawalpindi’s Shamsabad area, car decorator Qazi Sohail says his shop has been “flooded with requests.” His team is working around the clock to ensure that every customer leaves ready to showcase their patriotic spirit. “Whether in big cities or small towns, the enthusiasm is the same,” he noted.

From simple flag displays to elaborate paint jobs, each decorated car adds to the collective buzz of Independence Day. In smaller towns and villages, too, the roads are set to turn into moving parades, with vehicles decked out in green and white.

As August 14 approaches, the car decoration craze is not just a fleeting trend—it’s becoming an enduring part of Pakistan’s Independence Day tradition. And when the big day arrives, the streets will once again be alive with the roar of engines and the flutter of flags, carrying a message of unity, pride, and celebration.
