Islamabad: The district administration, Capital Development Authority (CDA), and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) have mobilized emergency teams to monitor and manage the impact of continuous rainfall in the federal capital since last night.

In a proactive move, the district administration has prioritized low-lying areas to prevent waterlogging and ensure smooth drainage across the city.

According to an ICT administration spokesperson, teams are working around the clock to mitigate any potential disruptions caused by the persistent downpour.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has directed all Assistant Commissioners (ACs) to personally visit vulnerable areas, assess the situation, and take necessary measures to prevent flooding and infrastructure damage.

In addition to drainage efforts, Islamabad Traffic Police have been put on high alert to regulate vehicular movement and prevent congestion. Authorities are focused on maintaining normal traffic flow despite the challenging weather conditions.

The CDA and MCI teams are working in close coordination with the district administration to swiftly address any emerging issues. Their field presence is crucial for timely interventions and ensuring public safety and convenience.

DC Islamabad’s directive for on-ground inspections highlights the administration’s commitment to mitigating the impact of heavy rainfall. By closely monitoring affected areas, authorities aim to safeguard the city’s infrastructure and minimize disruptions to daily life.

As rainfall continues, the administration remains vigilant, ensuring that all necessary precautions are in place to handle the situation efficiently and maintain normalcy for residents.
