Bushra Ansari, Iqbal Open Up About Their Debut Video Together

Islamabad: Veteran actress, host, and writer Bushra Ansari recently made her debut on her YouTube channel alongside her second husband, playwright Iqbal Hussain.

Addressing her fans, Ansari addressed the inquiries about her marital status and living arrangements, stating that all questions would be answered in the video.

In the video, Ansari disclosed that societal norms consider marrying an older woman a taboo. She recounted how Hussain proposed to her during the shooting of the drama serial ‘Sita Bagri,’ citing their shared solitude as a reason to unite.

Initially hesitant after her first marriage ended in divorce, Ansari revealed that she wasn’t inclined towards remarriage.

However, with encouragement from friends and family, including Badr Khalil, Rubina Ashraf, Behrouz Sabzwari, and Sultana Siddiqui, she eventually decided to tie the knot with Hussain, who was also divorced.

The couple aspires for their union to set an example, demonstrating that remarriage is a viable option even after experiencing divorce in one’s 30s or 35s.

Ansari emphasized the importance of destigmatizing second marriages for both men and women, acknowledging societal biases against older women marrying younger men.

While Hussain acknowledged the societal criticism surrounding such marriages, he stressed the importance of challenging these norms.
