Bus-Truck Collision Claims 2 Lives, 17 Injured in DI Khan

DI Khan: A fatal collision between a bus and a truck claimed two lives and left 17 others injured on Bannu Road near Shorkot on Friday. The accident occurred when the bus, travelling in the opposite direction, collided head-on with the truck.

Reports indicate that all passengers aboard the bus were pilgrims from Parachinar, en route to holy sites in Iran and Iraq via Balochistan to attend the mourning processions marking the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (AS) in Karbala.

According to a spokesman for Rescue 1122, emergency teams responded swiftly to the scene, administering first aid to the injured and transporting them to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment. He confirmed that two people tragically lost their lives in the crash, while seventeen others sustained injuries.

Later, the funeral prayers for the deceased were held at Kotli Imam Hussain in Dera Ismail Khan, drawing a large number of mourners from surrounding areas. The bodies were subsequently sent to their native villages for burial.
