Brunson Lights Up the Court: Knicks’ Guard Nets Career-High 50 Points in Flawless Shooting Spree

CBS/NBA

Islamabad: On Friday night, Jalen Brunson, the New York Knicks’ point guard, delivered a standout performance, hitting 9 out of 9 three-pointers and achieving a career-high of 50 points in a remarkable 139-122 victory against the Phoenix Suns.

Latrell Sprewell and Ben Gordon, who achieved this feat twice, are the only other players to have made all nine three-point attempts in an NBA game.

Brunson’s achievement goes beyond the record books as he becomes the first NBA player to score 50 points or more in a game while shooting 100 percent on at least eight three-point attempts. Kyrie Irving’s 57-point game with 7-for-7 three-point shooting in 2015 serves as a notable reference point.

His exceptional night extended further as Brunson displayed outstanding efficiency, going 17-of-23 from the field. The second half showcased his unparalleled accuracy, going an impeccable 12-for-12 from the field and 8-for-8 from beyond the arc, accumulating 35 points.

This phenomenal performance eclipsed Brunson’s previous career-high of 48 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers last March. He’s maintaining a stellar season with a career-best average of 25.6 points per game, paired with an impressive 46 percent shooting from three-point range.

Reflecting on this career-defining night, Brunson shared, “It means a lot, but I focus on continual improvement. While this is a great night, our focus remains on bouncing back and preparing for tomorrow.”
