BRT Introducers New Zu Card For Commuters
News Desk
Peshawar: The Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) introduced a new design for Zu Card which will be available at all BRT stations at the price of Rs 300.
BRT service operator Trans Peshawar spokesperson said that the old cards would continue to work as before, so commuters could continue using them. The production cost of the card has increased as a result of the rise in the value of the dollar, prompting the service to raise the card’s cost.
The spokesman stated that the colour of the new card has been designed green in the context of the brand colour of Zu Peshawar, which is also the national colour of Pakistan.
According to him, 0.4 million of the 1.5 million Zu Cards produced during the initial phase were distributed for free. Approximately 1.5 million cards have been issued thus far and the cost of the BTR service is not raised. ZU is an international standard bus rapid transit system for the city of Peshawar.
BRT is a high-quality transport system, which provides fast, efficient, reliable and comfortable mode of transport for travellers. In a BRT system, the buses travel in a dedicated corridor and avoid congestion on the road.
