British MPs Back Israeli Actions Despite Public Opposition

London: In a move widely seen as defying public opinion, the British Parliament overwhelmingly voted to support Israel in its ongoing conflict with Hamas, rejecting amendments calling for humanitarian pauses and an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
The votes took place during the debate on the King’s Speech on Wednesday, an annual event in which the government outlines its policy direction on domestic and international issues.
The Labour Party proposed an amendment calling for “humanitarian pauses” in hostilities, while the Scottish National Party (SNP) sought an immediate ceasefire. Both proposals were defeated. Labour’s amendment was rejected by 290 votes to 183, while the SNP’s motion failed 293 to 125 after Labour leader Keir Starmer instructed party MPs to abstain.
Voting patterns revealed divisions within the Muslim MPs in Parliament. While two Conservative Muslim MPs opposed the ceasefire, twelve – including eleven Labour MPs and one SNP member – voted in favor, defying Starmer’s directive.
The Parliament’s decision effectively continues support for Israeli air and ground operations in Gaza, which have already resulted in over 11,000 Palestinian deaths and more than 40,000 injuries, the majority of whom are women and children.

Public opinion, however, is overwhelmingly in favor of an end to the violence. Polls indicate that 70 percent of Britons support an immediate ceasefire, and recent demonstrations across the UK have drawn hundreds of thousands of participants. Last Saturday, around one million people marched through London demanding an end to hostilities—the largest pro-peace demonstration the city has ever seen.
The parliamentary vote has also triggered a rebellion within the Labour Party, particularly among Muslim MPs who openly supported the ceasefire.
Their defiance highlights growing dissatisfaction with Starmer, whose leadership and stance on Israel have already led to resignations of Labour councillors in cities including Oxford, Birmingham, Bradford, Gloucester, Stroud, Manchester, Cambridge, Nottingham, and various London boroughs.
Political analysts warn that Starmer’s refusal to advocate for a full ceasefire risks alienating Muslim voters and could significantly weaken the party ahead of future elections. Observers also suggest that continued internal dissent may pose a severe challenge to his leadership.
As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza deepens, the UK government’s position has drawn widespread criticism from citizens and international human rights groups, spotlighting a growing disconnect between public sentiment and parliamentary action.
The fact is that foreign policy of Britain in relation to Israel has always been biased in favour of Israel irrespective of party politics which is dictated by America. Britain’s virtually subservience to American dictat is not a new phenomenon. We have witnessed the repetition of this exercise time and again in the last 30 years. Both countries are polically and economically controlled by powefull Zionists.
The rebellion of few Muslim Labour front benchers and MPs voted against their leader Keir Starmer was a commendable decision. It was a daring move resulting from searching of their consciences and fear of potential electoral backlash. However, the majority of members of both Labour and Conservative parties voted for the amendment of ” long pauses” meaning more deaths and destruction of innocent civilians in Gaza and West Bank.
Once again double standards and hypocrisy of our politicians have triumphed and hue and cry from the overwhelming majority of the electorate for immediate ceasefire has been ignored. This is naked negation and mockery of democracy. But we the people must continue to assert our demand for immediate cessation of violence and detestation of human beings who are indiscriminately being constantly bombed by a Zionist regime .
A historical perspective on the current Israel-Palestine war design:
Zionist Israel is a creation of Britain and America. They are committed to it existence and expansion. They see Palestine as the lost heritage of Jews and Christians, the Holy land on which they have divine claim. Historically, this was lost to Muslims which they have never accepted and forgiven. This tussle to claim it back from Muslims over the centuries is what we refer to as ‘ crusade’. the battles of cross. The placing of Israel was part of an ongoing crusade by proxy. The current genocide of Muslims is part of this ongoing crusade.
The other axis of the crusade was the disintegration of Usmania Khalafah in which the forefathers of the present Saudia played a critical role for which they were rewarded the Kingdom of Saudia also created by Britain and promised protection. Some of you may recall that when Saddam attacked Kuwait which spilled over to Saudia, the Saudis invoked the historical treaty in which the Britain had promised to defend Saudia. The reciprocal arrangements of the treaty also entailed that the newly established Kingdom of Saudia would not do anything to compromise the interests of Britain in the region. It is this that is keeping Saudia quiet and indifferent to the slaughter of Palestinians In Gaza. Saudia, in fact, using its influence to protect British and American interests in the region.
Part 3 was the creation and control of UAE with heavy Jewish , American and European investment, an anomaly in the desert with a population less than any one the largest metropolis. In reality UAE is out post for Jewish, British and European interests.
Part 4 was to disintegrate and control certain key Muslim nations in the region- Libya, Iraq and Syria etc. This part of a calculated strategy to take away the capacity of Muslim nations to mount any level of resistance to the final onslaught on the Holy land. The precursor this was the relocation of American Embassy in Jerusalem . The British will be moving theirs soon .
The final stage to complete the crusade is the present war and genocide.
