Quetta: The Balochistan government on Sunday announced the imposition of section144 in Sherani and other forests of the province to protect flora and fauna, trees and other wildlife from fire.

The decision has been taken to protect human lives, animals, species, and other creatures from burn.

All public firefighting activities have also been banned. In this regard, the Balochistan Home Department issued a statement on Sunday.

Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure1898 has been enacted in forest zones of Quetta, Ziarat, Kalat and other areas of the province for the protection of local populations, forests and wildlife.

The ban is also imposed in the forests of Karkhasa, Kirtaphorest Dhadar, Sherani, Zhob, Harnai, Musa Khel, Barkhan and Kohlu. In addition, firefighting, barbecue, fire camping and other such activities at Spin Karez, Takto Range, Juniper Harboi Kalat and Hangul National Park are also banned.

Sherani Forest is the largest forest of its kind and a large amount of wildlife and trees has been engulfed in a devastating fire for the past two weeks, but unfortunately, the government, politicians, wildlife activists, PDMA, army, judges and media do not care.

This is a great loss because there is no greed for commission and no progress in their titles, said a local resident.

Unfortunately, we have to say that most of us belong to the religion in which planting trees is considered a charity and a great virtue.

“I pay tribute to the people on social media who have shed light on this important issue and request the government and other institutions to do something to extinguish the fire, ” said another local resident.
